Charlotte Train Stabbing: One Dead After Incident Near Light Rail Station

Charlotte, NC — Authorities are investigating after a fatal stabbing near a north Charlotte light rail station on Friday.

According to Medic officials, the incident occurred on Brevard Street at East 25th Street, close to the 25th Street Blue Line station. One person was confirmed dead at the scene.

In response, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) has temporarily halted light rail service at the 25th Street station. A bus bridge has been implemented to maintain transit between CTC Station uptown and 36th Street in NoDa.

Police have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the stabbing or any potential suspects. Officers are on scene, and an investigation is ongoing.

CATS has asked commuters to use alternate stations and expect delays while services remain disrupted. Officials urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
